Boasting harmonious curves and aesthetics evocative of the Grand Palais, the wooden structure was installed at Champ de Mars in early 2021, just opposite the École Militaire. Respecting the composition axis of the esplanade, the Champ-de-Mars Arena blends in perfectly with its urban surroundings. The arena will host the art, fashion and sports events that would ordinarily have taken place in the Nave of the Grand Palais were the museum not undergoing renovations, as well as cultural events organised by public cultural organisation Réunion des musées nationaux-Grand Palais. Holding these events in a prestigious, central location in the capital while the Grand Palais is being renovated will ensure they are a success and help Paris retain its position as the world capital of art and culture. The Champ-de-Mars Arena will remain in place for a few months after the renovation work is finished to provide a prestigious setting to host the Olympic and Paralympic events in Summer 2024, just a stone’s throw away from other competition venues such as the Eiffel Tower Stadium and Invalides. The Champ-de-Mars Arena was designed as a modular structure that could be put up and taken down quickly, which means that it will be able to be reused in various configurations after it leaves its current home at Champ de Mars in Autumn 2024. The project meets present-day environmental requirements by using sustainable materials and choosing a wooden structure for the building. 60 kg 67 kg 77 kg 87 kg 97 kg 130 kg Discipline: Greco-roman 6 events : 6 OLYMPIC GAMES PARALYMPIC GAMES JUDO 15 events: 7 / 7 / 1 WRESTLING Discipline: Freestyle 12 events: 6 / 6 The Champ-de-Mars Arena – known as the “Grand Palais Éphémère” until now – is a 10,000 m² temporary building designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. - 60 kg - 66 kg - 73 kg - 81 kg - 90 kg - 100 kg + 100 kg - 48 kg - 52 kg - 57 kg - 63 kg - 70 kg - 78 kg + 78 kg Mixed Team 57 kg 65 kg 74 kg 86 kg 97 kg 125 kg 50 kg 53 kg 57 kg 62 kg 68 kg 76 kg PARA JUDO Information to be determined WHEELCHAIR RUGBY Information to be determined CHAMP-DE-MARS ARENA P A R I S 2 0 2 4 O LY M P I C A N D P A R A LY M P I C V E N U E S : D A T A S H E E T 8
